The DILGO PIG

DIlgo Surf collaborated with Natures Shapes Surfboards in Sayville, NY to create a new twist on an old design. Pig longbaords are designed with point break beaches in mind, but Long Island is home to fast, short period beach break waves. We designed the Dilgo Pig to handle a point break and beach break.

A "pig" longboard has a wider tail than most noserider designs. The wider tail creates more pivot and makes turning quick so you can get down the line and to the nose faster.

The nose of "pig" longboards is less wide than most longboards and this has proven to help cut through the whitewater. When the wind is cranking, the entry drop is easier too.

We added a special tail concave we are calling the "Pig Rut". The pig rut is designed to help increase lift when riding. Water wraps around the tail and enters the pig rut creating  downward force on the tail providing extra lift.
